Pottery Classes for kids

Register your interest for the next School Holiday workshop.

The next school holiday pottery classes proposed dates are:

  • Monday 26th June 10am-11.30am for primary ages.

  • Tuesday 27th June 10am-12pm for high school ages.

  • Primary Kids - Monday 26th June (1.5hr, 6-12yrs)

    High Schoolers - Tuesday (2.5hr class, 13-17yrs)

  • 11 Dandaloo St, The Gap, Brisbane.

  • $45 for the 1.5hr class

    $50 for the 2.5hr class

  • Kids classes are generally between 1.5-2.5 hours depending on age group and we focus on a range of hand-building techniques. A theme is provided eg. pot plants, mugs, miniature modelling etc., however, everyone is welcome to adapt their piece however they wish using their creativity and the materials provided.

    Please Note: We only use natural Australian clays and non-toxic materials to create our pieces.

    All work is kiln fired so it is functional and durable for its purpose.

    Collection: Work will be ready for pick up approximately 3-4 weeks after the class (depending on weather for drying time).

    What is included: All materials, tools, apron, kiln firings and guided tuition, water and biscuits for a quick snack.

    Ages: This class is suited to school aged children ideally 6+yrs. All children must be able to focus for the duration of the class.

    Maximum class size: 8 students

    My studio dog, Beau may be present. He is gentle and great with visitors but please advise if your child is allergic or uncomfortable around dogs.

    Toilet facilities available, wheelchair access and on-street parking.

    This class will be taught by Melanie Hardy. Melanie holds a current Blue Card and is fully insured to teach children in her home studio setting.

All cancellations must be made via email or text to: melaniehardyceramics@gmail.com or 0422 225 190 just so I know if you can’t make the class.

It is important to ensure you do not come to this class if you are contagious with any illness. If you arrive unwell to the class, you will be asked to leave immediately.

For any other health issues requiring a cancellation, please do get in touch and I will be most happy to accommodate wherever possible.
